1. Files should all be saved as TIFF, raw, or another lossless format that can be opened by Photoshop. DO NOT SAVE THE FILE AS A JPEG EVEN IF THE ORIGINAL FROM THE CAMERA CAME IN AS A JPEG! DO NOT SAVE IN A PROPRIETARY FORMAT THAT REQUIRES 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE TO OPEN (ie NEF'S from Nikon)!

2. Store images as16 bit if they come in as16 bit. 16 bit files are difficult to manipulate with Photoshop, but have MUCH more dynamic range.
